The museum is small, but the park staff were really nice. A fun place to visit if you have time, and the park area is a definite must if your family likes the outdoors.

I wish I could give ZERO stars! I recently attended a wonderful women’s wellness event located in the Chesapeake Room. The Venue itself is located on beautiful property with lovely scenery. I have been to Downs Park many times over the years, yet this was my worst experience! The Chesapeake Room is a nice size to host a special event yet the kitchen smells like death due to bad pipes, dirty and old looking. We recently rented this space for a wellness event. The room itself is an okay space. The kitchen sinks were clogged. The bathrooms were dirty. The park rangers were RUDE and RUINED our experience. There was so much RACIAL OVERTONES. We were there for 6 hours and they came there at least 30 times! We felt as if we were being policed although we paid to use the space, and we followed all the rules. We were playing quiet music with an iPad which you could not hear from outside.
