I had such an amazing experience with Katie and Karen at Chesapeake Midwifery. From the very beginning, they were incredibly caring, understanding, and supportive. Having had complications with previous pregnancies, I carried a lot of worries throughout this one. Katie is a gem. I love that she answers whatever questions you have and makes you feel relaxed. She is super chill, but knows exactly when to act. My husband wasn’t sure about a home birth, but she put him at ease and he’s now a believer. She was so precious with my baby and patient with my 2 other wild boys who would come with my to my appointments. Don’t even think twice if you have stumbled on Katie for your home birth. I highly recommend Katie Shannon for midwifery care. Katie was my midwife for my third pregnancy and first home birth. The knowledge and confidence she brings with 15+ years of experience is apparent in the quality of care that you receive. Katie and Karen (her student at the time) took the time to really get to know me and my family prior to the birth. All prenatal appointments were 45+ minutes. I never left with unanswered questions. Unbelievable in the best ways! After my first birth I knew I wanted something different & I am so thankful I was led to Katie. She provided such comfort & ease throughout my entire pregnancy, giving me peace of mind & a firm remembrance that I was made to birth.
