The only place I know of where I can go to the gym for a few days while visiting family. Other places I have looked at require for me to buy a membership for a year. I love how inclusive this place is.
We had an extremely disappointing experience at this YMCA location. The staff were shockingly rude, especially an employee named Shamona. Her attitude was unprofessional and aggressive, and she lacked basic customer service skills. When we arrived yesterday hoping to enjoy the pool with our kids, we were ready to pay for two family passes. However, Shamona told us to wait and then abruptly refused to let us in because one of our children was over 14 — something we didn’t understand, especially since we were holding our bank ... read more

Excellent facility with a wide range of services! The Ches Penney Family YMCA has everything — clean gym equipment, great fitness classes, swimming pool, and friendly, helpful staff. It's a welcoming space for all ages and fitness levels. Love how community-focused it feels. A great place to stay active and healthy in St. John’s!
