Nice people, good prices, but unfortunately it is not good food. It is brutal. Fusion Express and Red Door are almost two times the cost, but you taste the difference.
Every time I’ve come in, they are very welcoming and kind, even if you come in right before closing. I’ve been to a couple other chinese places in East Hampton and it feels like your presence and business doesn’t feel appreciated and they seem annoyed. The food is good and it’s one of the best and cheapest priced Chinese food in EH. They are also very quick. Food comes out within 10 minutes when you do a walk in order.
Really nice people, place looks good since the renovation, plenty seats to eat in as well.
Chen’s Garden does not match the standard of good New York City takeout spots, but it has shown steady improvement over the past few years. The exceptional warmth of the staff makes picking up the order a pleasure. Given the continuous upward trajectory of the food quality, I have hopes that Chen’s Garden will someday rival solid NYC Chinese cuisine.
