Chena Hot Springs was discovered in 1905 by brothers Robert and Thomas Swan and became one of the premier hot springs destination in the state. Its healing waters has people from far and wide come and stay at its resort. Whether it is a day trip or a longer stay, the remote location is a haven for nature lovers. You can catch the beautiful Northern Lights while soaking in the waters or just relax in the springs.

Chena Hot Springs Resort This place was well worth the drive from Fairbanks. It was a unique outdoor hot spring. You entered the hot water in very cold temperatures and it was so relaxing and just a neat experience over all. The ice bar was very 'cool' with their martini's served in ice glasses. There were lots of other activites to do and would be worth the stay over a weekend. I would recommend making the trip up to experience such an uncommon, interesting activity for the whole family.
Long drive, but worth it! Pros: The hot springs are awesome! I went once in 50 degreee weather and once in -20 and both times were great! The Ice museum is pretty awesome too. I would like to spend a weekend here sometime Cons: The drive form Fairbanks is about an hour, but it's worth it. The restuarant is pretty pricey. The pool isnt very clean
