Our upstairs was always 8 degrees hotter in summer and colder in winter. We used space heaters and window units. The duct cleaning tech did a camera check and found the main trunk to upstairs was 60% blocked with dust and old insulation. After cleaning, the air pressure from upstairs vents was strong for the first time ever. Now the whole house is within 2 degrees. We got rid of the space heaters. One service balanced our whole house. We should have done this 10 years ago.
For 4 years we had a musty smell when the AC turned on. Three HVAC companies said “that’s normal for old houses.” It was not normal. Clean Air Pros found the real problem. They opened the main duct and found dust mixed with moisture. It was starting to grow mold. They cleaned it all out, scrubbed it, and put a safe cleaner on it.
