Take a trip to the Chelsea Mansion, a former Gold Coast era mansion, in Muttontown. Built in 1924, the mansion has 40 rooms and was named to the National Register of Historic Places.

Review is for grounds only. I’ve visited on summer weekend to check out the formal gardens of the mansion. There is ample parking next to the mansion, gardens are very nice as well arboretum-like layout of the trees at perimeter of estate. I did not find any direct link with main trails of Muttontown Preserve, so better option for hiking it is to park at Bill Paterson nature center.
