10/10 fig is the best I've ever had hands down. Crab cake is top tier
It's been awhile since we stopped here and it was amazing as always. Ashley was our server and she was wonderful. We never had to ask for anything, she was one stop ahead of us. We started with the crab cake and I would say it is one of the best in Acadiana. We had the crawfish half-n-half (Fried and etouffee) and also the fried fish and shrimp. Terrible food and deceptive billing practices. Avoid this place! I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Chef Roy’s. The food was awful—everything fried tasted like it had been soaked in old oil, or was just reheated from earlier. I ordered the fried (swai) fish (which they subbed for catfish), and while the texture was okay, it was completely bland and tasteless. The kitchen clearly doesn't care about quality. I went with the seafood platter, and everything on the plate was cooked just right without feeling greasy. The fried shrimp were crisp, the catfish was flaky, and the hush puppies were a nice surprise. The place had a welcoming hometown feel, and it was easy to see why so many locals recommend it.
