For years, my husband and I have made it a ritual not to miss lunch here every Saturday. We have tried going elsewhere a few times, but we always find ourselves drawn back by memories of the menu—the lamb shank, the signature burger (unmatched anywhere else in Chicago), the chicken burger, and the *sambousek* (which rivals the best Middle Eastern cuisine). Small quiet informal restaurant filled with knicknacks and family photos of Abdulrazzak who moved his family out of Iraq after being shot by a terrorist, spent 10 years as refugees in Egypt, found asylum but no jobs in the US, then became the best mediterranean chef in Illinois where he and his family graciously feed us.
