Hello I am the wife of Katherine. I would like to make this very clear. This was hmm, our wedding day. As simple as it was, she ordered a checker for us prepaid. Apparently, there was some kerfuffle over that. She didn't have her wallet and She was quite upset. She was even crying. I am giving a three star even though the drivers were prompt but I ordered a cab from my address to the University Hospital. Cost me $22 going. I called a cab from the hospital to go back to my home and it cost me $23.50 yet it was the same distance. How can there be different pricing?
If I could leave a zero star rating I would. Worst experience! Disorganized company. Useless app. I thought I was going to get a step up from regular cab service. The car was filthy and the driver was rude and argumentative. I will not recommend nor will I ever use Checker again.
I have been using Checker for many years now, to get me to and from work. Have had many great drivers that became regulars for me, but they have changed shifts, left the country, province, etc., and since this change I have had multiple experiences where I was talked down to by drivers who act like they know better, and my thoughts don’t matter, leading to them calling HQ so I can be further talked down on. If I could give less than one star I would. For many years while travelling for business I used to call and order a car for early the next morning to head to the airport. I didn't travel over Covid or up until recently this week. As usual, I called Monday evening asking for a car for pickup Tuesday morning at 7:45 a.m. I received a text confirmation so felt I had nothing to worry about.
