We had to bring our doodle in for emergency surgery for a foreign body object over the weekend. The staff was caring and helpful, the Dr. explained the surgery process to us in an easy way for us to understand. I was so impressed that the Dr was able to manipulate the objects instead of cutting into his intestines, making the surgery less invasive. I’m weighting this review as a single mother with a struggle with the pandemic an hours cut as most of us Americans have faced these days but love my fur babies as if they where my own children. Except for a few (if that many) staff members with moderate longevity, this place is a revolving door of vets and techs. That should be the first clue as to the kind of care your pet will get. I brought my pet in for an emergency situation which was grossly overinflated by a very inexperienced vet, and made even more dramatic and dire by the practice “owner,” who apparently micromanages everything in the practice. The staff at Cheat Lake Animal Hospital have been nothing short of amazing with our two rats. We unfortunately lost one of our boys Eric before he turned one due to cancer. It was heart breaking but Dr. Mule gave us our options and was willing to look more into treatment of lymphoma in rats if we wanted to fight it, we decided to treat with a steroid until it was time for euthanasia.
