It's more like a very large pond. Perfect for kids to swim and play in. There is a diving platform in the lake. Plenty of parking next to the lake. There is camping next to the lake. I fished in it and caught lots of small bass. Too small to keep, but fun to catch. You can see the lake from the restaurant in the park. (That they closed.) Es lindo. Lo visite en invierno. Presenta varios atractivos para jugar dentro del lago como fuera de el. Especialmente para los más chicos.
You must pay the park entry fee to visit here but it's beautiful! (These photos were from the 2nd weekend of October). There are plenty of parking places, a pavilion to picnic under, a playground for the kids, and a beach area. It was too cold to swim for us but there were some people out there. The hike around the lake is beautiful but can only be accessed from the parking area. I wish there were other spots to start the hike.
Have always loved visiting the lake and surrounding mountains at Cheaha. It is such a beautiful place and so peaceful. Truly a hidden gem tucked away in the Appalachian mountains!
