Chaska Auto Repair gets my repeat business I will be returning to Chaska Auto Repair this week for another repair to my 95 Jeep. This is in large part to the excellent job they did on my suspension last trip to the shop. Not only was the cost less than i anticipated, but everything was fixed, (even to the point that my steering wheel was in the correct position for the first time in 15 years)
Shop Supplies Charges are the norm Adding a shop supplies charge is not unusual at all -- in fact, I would challenge you to find any true repair shop (meaning someone other than a guy repairing cars in his spare time) that does not add this charge onto a bill. For one thing, it gives you a much better idea of the actual charge for the part or specific repair is, rather than the shop having to tack extra overhead charges onto a parts charge, for example. Have worked with them for years. Very honest, friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. I have recommended several friends to Chaska Auto after having gone to numerous other mechanics, who proved to be extremely dishonest and simpy out to make a buck. I was in need of emergency repairs, and was without a backup vehicle. The owner suggested that I take his truck home until he called to inform that my vehicle was ready. Not many places around that I have found provide that type of Customer Service.
Reply to hidden charges Many companies have "hidden charges" take your phone bill for example every month they add on a small fee and they call it a surcharge the phone company displays on the bill that it is charged to you to help defray costs imposed upon them. It's not the small business trying to "gouge" you for a few bucks if I'm not mistaken the surcharge is a very reasonable price to cover materials they use to fix your car so you will be safe on the road.
Hidden charges I have taken my vehicle to Chaska Auto Repair on more than one occasion. I felt that they were fairly priced and did good work, although the woman who works at the counter is pretty consistently rude. Most recently, I have discovered extra charges on my bill noted as shop supplies. When I asked what shop supplies I was being billed for, I was told that this was a flat percentage of my bill that everyone is charged. Reliable This family owned (at least they told me that) garage is reliable according to my experiences. Their technicians are knowledgeable and know what they are doing. They will give you advice on how to do proper maintenance for your car and they also tell you not to worry too many things about the car.
Affordable, high quality car repairs Excellent, personal service. Reasonable prices. This isn't a shop that will try to tack on extra services you don't need. A great jewel tucked away in Chaska! Now under new ownership - but still owned by the same family so it is still the same great place. You can leave your car in their lot overnight if you don't want to wait for your car to be serviced; but plenty of cute antique shops right in the neighborhood if you want to browse while you wait!
