Bill’s shop is an absolute gem and a Charlotte institution! I bought my first machine from his dad about 40 years ago, and Bill has carried on with extremely knowledgeable sales and service and kindness. I have bought 2 more machines from him and highly recommend you see him for your next machine or service for your current one!
I just purchased my 4th Pfaff sewing machine from Bill. Each time upgrading and buying the Passport 3.0 as a take along machine for sew-in’s and retreats. His service is fantastic. Always there for if you need some assistance with the machines. And there is a monthly meetup group for Icon owners.
I've gone here a handful of times now to ask questions or search for odds and ends because it's close and JoAnn is no longer in business. The guy who works there has either flat out ignored me, or just been very cold and curt. I don't think he means to be rude but it's clearly not a fluke. Today when paying a large German Shepherd came to the counter and spat out his ball at me to play fetch. Seems like a nice dog but I don't really want dog drool on my stuff. I took my Machine couple of times and I never get disappointed. My machine is very old, but it works for me every time they took care of it.
I would highly recommend Carolina Sewing Center! I brought in a sewing machine for what I thought was a needed repair job. It’s a very old sewing machine of a type that is no longer made. The gentleman at the store took one quick look at the problem and pointed out what was actually a user error. He was so quick and knew exactly what to do and kindly charged us nothing. We will continue to go back as needed.
