My late father-in-law was at Charlotte Hall. It was too far away and not the best care. The VA can do much better, so I hope they will accept this challenge and make it happen. We need VA facilities that are wonderful in other places besides Charlotte Hall and Baltimore. Charlotte Hall is too far away for many families to visit. Baltimore is not safe. My Dad was found dead in his bed here. He was taken to the nearest hospital to be pronounced dead so that the VA wouldn't pay for his funeral as a Korean war veteran. PITIFUL & SHAMEFUL..... I served in the Marines.. what's next, free illegal immigrant burials.?
Just upload two (2) pictures of a dead rodent we found next to my Father's bed this afternoon. It was readily apparent that it had been there for for two or more days. It is proof that the living quarters and lavatories for our "honored" veterans are neither regularly nor thoroughly cleaned. It is not uncommon to see unwashed bed linens, dirty, sticky, floors and hallways, especially on the upper floor(s).
