if you notice the big grassy line on maps is a runway, possibly the runway from the defunct air base. I know of another that is now a neighborhood beside roses on eastway, where the creek is behind a movie theater looking building used to have a 40s era airport! The railroad tracks at eastway that is now an apartment complex, also used to be a golf course around the same time

I read some of Charlottes world war 2 history and there was an airfield called Delta air base right where Charlotte aircraft corporation is now
