I just experienced my first horrific mechanic experience. We were given an estimate that it would cost $1400-1500 to replace head gaskets on our daughter's first car. Without receiving any calls or explanations, the cost ended up being $2350 after it took twice as long as estimated it would take. And the worst thing of all is there is now a transmission error code that we will now need someone else to fix. I can't stress enough at how dishonest Charlie Brown's Auto Repair is.
