Had been so excited to finally try Charlie Bird - what a disappointment. We had a 9pm reservation for 4 and were stuck at the bar until 9:30 waiting for our table. Once seated, the waiter was in no rush to acknowledge us, more than half the menu was unavailable, and when food finally arrived 45 minutes later, the portions were laughably small. To top it off, a cocktail we ordered never showed up and no one ever checked in on us. We left hungry enough to go straight to Mamoun’s. Won’t be back.
Everything was excellent. From the perfect Negronis to the sublime crudo and delicious desserts. The service was attentive and on point.
The restaurant made a change on a dish and did not announce it. Substituting potatoes instead of figs totally changed the dish which I would not have ordered. Such a disappointment from a former favorite place
Great spot for a business lunch. We did the quick lunch option with a small plate and a pasta, which was perfect for a midday meal. We also ordered oysters separately, and they were incredibly fresh and delicious. My co-worker loved the farro salad, got the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, and I had the gnocchi rosa—both pastas were rich, flavorful, and really well done. The atmosphere was a bonus—great music and open windows on nice days made it even more enjoyable. Would definitely come back.
