I have been twice in the past few years for a mammogram and have always had a gray experience! The only thing I didn’t love was that there was a significant price discrepancy between the low self pay quote they sent me ahead of time and the actual price with insurance that I had to pay. I chalk that up to high deductible insurance plans. Everyone has been so kind and helpful and made the whole process as smooth as possible for it being a mammogram. :)
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE SELF-PAY. I have gone here for 10 years to get my annual mammogram with no issue. Wonderful staff. Easy scheduling with little wait time until summer 2025. I switched to self pay several years ago as I am self employed. Paid somewhere in the $200-$300 range out of pocket until summer 2025 when I was charged just shy of an astounding $800!!!! for a routine mammogram AFTER being quoted “around $200” by the billing person on the phone prior to the appointment. OVERALL MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GREAT FOR MANY YEARS. PLEASANT STAFF, QUICK AVALIABILITY, PROMPT AND FAST SERVICE. HOWEVER, THIS YEAR I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THEM ON THE PHONE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. I HAVE CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE WITH NO RETURN CALL, AS WELL AS CALLED AND WAITED ON HOLD FOR OVER 20 MINUTES WITH NOONE EVER PICKING UP. NORMALLY I SCHEDULE THE SAME DAY I GET MY ORDERS TO AVOID 2 SEPERATE TRIPS TO MT PLEASANT, BUT NOT THIS YEAR. THEREFORE, I WILL BE SWITCHING TO ANOTHER FACILITY. THIS IS UNFORTUNATE
I had routine mammograms here last year and today. Both were good experiences. My doctor submitted the order and I got a call promptly to schedule. I showed up at 8:52 for my 9:00 a.m. appointment. Since I had pre-registered, all they had to do was verify my ID and print my paperwork. As soon as that was done, I got called back and was out the door by 9:08. Myra was very professional and while nothing is going to make a mammogram comfy, she was quick but thorough and got me out with minimal discomfort.
