Safeway Newark De. Big beautiful store,friendly employees, produce was fresh and look appetizing, and meats look very good quality. I like flow of the store.I would recommended this store over Acme and Pathmark

Needs improvement I work in Newark but live further north. It's convenient for me to shop on a lunch hour rather than wait until I'm home. Safeway is not up to the standards that I am used to. The produce department had a lot of fruit flies swarming around the over-ripe fruit that should have been taken off the shelf. They are frequently out of items that are on sale. I also think the way that this chain of stores advertises in-store items is deceptive. For instance, instead of "2 for $2.50" they say "2@2.50". When you get u... read more

Safeway in Peoples Plaza This Safeway Store used to be a Genuardi's Market. Genaurdi's was a family owned and operated market. Safeway has a very different feel to it now. Now, it feels just like any other grocery store without the "homey" feeling Genaurdi's used to have. Safeway is adequate and has all the departments typical of a grocery store.
