We went to Oh, Mary! after hearing glowing reviews and expecting sharp wit or creative reinterpretation. Instead, we were shocked and disturbed by what we saw. The show’s depiction of Abraham Lincoln as a grotesquely caricatured, hypersexual figure and Mary Todd Lincoln as a pathetic drunk who jokes about her son’s death was, in our view, deeply disrespectful and vulgar.
