Made an appt. For 10:30 am sat. June14th. Dropped my car off Friday night on my way home from work thinking ok they'll get on it at 10:30 get 2 text messages saturday morning roughly 8:30 informing me about my service. So I'm thinking oh there gonna get to it early. WRONG at 11:30 I call to check on my status and I'm informed oh we haven't got to your car yet. Chapman Ford arranged towing to Chapman and communicated with us at each step. They reviewed the damage and explained why the car was totaled by the accident.
Sales agent did a nice job of finding us a Transit Trail. The big feature is the trail package that costs an extra $ 12,000 so that you have higher ground clearance. We bought it 3/22/2024 which is the day of the recall for tires rubbing. Thus, it was a $ 12,000 waste of money because the fix for the tires rubbing is to put on tires that are smaller which eliminates the ground clearance advantage and doesn’t look nearly as good. We are retired and on a fixed income and feel like we got the shaft.
This was not a good experience at all. I must say since the purchase, outstanding service until this transmission problem. A huge problem at 60k miles is unacceptable AND I brought it in with the problem in January and they said nothing was wrong and it passed all the tests but transmission still slipping and making a banging noise . Technician said “ that’s common when it’s cold out. I brought it back in February for routine stuff and battery, back again beginning of April for transmission.
