Close to the hotel district, this bakery seems 100% authentic. It was hard to choose between donuts cinnamon rolls, cakes, pies, and empanadas. You grab a metal tray/tongs and place your items on the tray before they're rung up. I got 2 slices of yellow cake for...$2.10. Fluffy, light, delicious, with a light spread of icing and sprinkles. Perfect!
Bakery has been consistent for a long time. You should be able to find something you like here because they have a ton of variety. I don't think I've ever felt welcomed walking into this place, and it can be hit or miss regarding the freshness of the items, but like I said before, you can find something that you like here.
Chapas is ofc the most delicious Mexican bakery jn town! I no longer live in Del Rio but placed an order for family members to receive and their customer service was above and beyond! They were kind, attentive to detail, patient, and such a pleasure to work with. They even colored the conchas pink and blue without me asking :)
