Company failed to file form 8288 with the IRS. This is a document that must be filed when buying a property from a foreign entity. The penalties resulting from their gross negligence has resulted in myself owing $13,451 to the IRS. After several weeks attempting to contact Championship Title the finally got back to me and said "they had paperwork stating they could file 8288 at a later date" and would reach out to us to resolve the issue. Closed on a property a few months back .... After a few days I got hit with a 5k bill from the association for a project that I didn’t know about .... championship told us that we’re out of luck , and can’t help us , this must have been overseen by them , this is one of the reasons why you deal with a title company My experience was way below my expectations therefor I would not like to work with them in the future
