Loved visiting Chalk. Particularly appreciate the low-key industrial vibe, cleanliness, and convenient hours at a very good price. The classes have something for everyone and every schedule. My friends liked the cardio boxing and dance cardio classes.
Bad Management / unclean locker rooms / lacks basic amenities like tissues !!! I have asked so many people who work at the gym to start adding tissues upstairs in the locker room / workout area - they all said no problem BUT it never happened. as you can see from the owners response below they don’t listen to the most basic requests of their clients! With the many gyms to choose from in Brooklyn, I gravitated towards this one, and I’m glad I did. A good atmosphere, and a good selection of machines and free weights too! All the other people working out were respectful, and hygienic when it came to wiping down machines/equipment. Pasquale was really helpful and welcoming at the reception. It was a very positive experience all round!
Was a member for ~3 years while I lived in the area, and loved it. Well-kept and clean facility, a wide range of equipment, responsive management, great PTs, and good vibes. I loved that the classes had no extra charge and were drop in. That made it really easy to attend one last minute, or switch things up when work unexpectedly went late.
