I debated for a long time before writing this review, but I believe expecting mothers deserve to hear about my experience. I had my C-section at Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services. What should have been one of the happiest times of my life quickly became one of the most traumatic. Nice newer building, friendly and helpful staff my wife arrived by ambulance at the emergency room. I arrived a little later not sure where to go just so happens the CEO was walking out and personally escorted me to the ER. Excellent care.

My family member presented to the ER with a flare of their chronic disease. The hospital gave fluids and pain medications, but did not start actually treating the problem until the pcp came back from vacation two days after admission. My family member had been receiving only fluids, zofran, acetaminophen and toradol for two days. When the pcp took over care he finally started the current treatment algorithm of steroids and protonix. I called to talk to nursing and they were offended by my questions. If for some reason I was able to rate this hospital zero Stars I would. I'd like to start back 7 years ago when my son had some sort of an allergic reaction on his legs. My son was seen by three different doctors and the final doctor that saw him said that he was an acute kidney failure and because he was so young he might not make it and so we would need to make peace with our son and give him a good rest of his life. Our experience at Chadron Hospital was outstanding. Our child had his tonsils and adenoids removed, and from check-in through recovery, every staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and incredibly compassionate. Multiple team members commented on how polite and respectful he was, and they treated him with such patience and reassurance — helping turn what could have been a stressful experience into a calm, positive one.
