Good service when you have the right doctor
I cannot thank all of the team here at CHA er department! I am visiting from out of state and was having tremendous stomach pains and they got me in very fast, listened to my concerns, ran multiple tests, explained everything to me, all while being extremely nice and friendly. This was everyone from the check in desk to the doctor on rounds. I think in total I spent 4 hours here, which for an emergency room isn’t terrible, and most time was just waiting on results. If you have sickle cell disease, the emergency department is wonderful for a quicker check-in and 6/10 care. However, if you are hospitalized, the belligerent and rude night nurses will make your life miserable. They are completely incompetent and argued with me about the treatment protocol set by the doctor. I would either spend the night with worsening pain and have the day doctor apologize profusely or cause a scene so the charge nurse could come and clarify things with them.
