Tried Ceylon Hut Food Truck and it definitely hit the spot! We ordered the chicken rice bowl and pork rice bowl, and I can confidently say this is authentic Sri Lankan food. Both dishes were packed with flavor, with just the right hint of spice — flavorful and satisfying without being overwhelming. I really wanted to like this place but I was so turned off when I heard and saw a microwave being used to heat up my food while I was waiting for it. Seriously, look for it. At their checkout window you’ll see the microwave to the right of the cashier, it’s flush against the glass. How do you charge $17 for a rice bowl with curry and not even serve the curry out of a warmer? Besides this the owner was sitting on the countertop which is not hygienic.
Wow thank you to the owners for introducing Orlando to Sri Lankan food! I hadn’t even taken 3 bites before I was thinking of when I’ll be back. Incredible flavors and perfectly seasoned for any taste. It is *similar* to *some* regional Indian cuisine but it truly is a world of its own. There is such a homey comforting feeling eating this food and I’m not Sri Lankan. No notes!!
