A great place to learn capoeira ! The teachers Mestre Grande and Profesora Mel are very warm , knowledgeable, accommodating and the classes are beginner friendly. They also have some of the best events ever!

I love this school. One of the only Capoeira de Angola schools in NYC and the fact that they don’t charge any fee makes it THE most accessible by a long shot. I’m so grateful to attend under Mestre Grande and Professora Mel’s guidance. They are patient, kind, and offer an endless wealth of rich knowledge on capoeira de Angola.

A great community to learn the afro-brazilian art of capoeira angola. The classes combine music, movement, and discussion of afro-brazilian culture and history. Mestre Grande and Professor Mel are both deeply knowledgeable about the art form, and create a very friendly and welcoming environment!
