In the last 3 years, I have received 2 above guideline rent increases. My parking fee has also exponentially increased in that timeframe, from around 60 a month to 95. At the same time, customer service has taken a sharp fall. CCOC has taken an unfortunate turn in the last few years, this is a popular topic of discussion among my neighbours who also rent from CCOC. Market rent payers propping up subsidized units, while having to make do with a drop in service and maintenance.
I have lived here for 4 years. The building it self and the residence are amazing. Very quiet inside. The surrounding area is very diverse and ever changing, however I feel safe and happy in my apt. Don't let the atmosphere in the area reflect on the actual apartment building. Very safe, friendly, quiet and and overall good building to live in!
CCOC has really gone downhill — unresponsive and unsafe. What used to be a reliable housing provider is now completely unresponsive. They take far too long to respond to issues — even emergencies — and often decide things aren’t urgent when they clearly are. It can take many business days just to get a reply, if at all. They ask tenants for dates, times, and full details when reporting serious concerns — but then do nothing with the information. No action, no follow-up. I have a friend who lives there. There are problems there because of homeless people and the neighborhood. She has a 1 bedroom and it's decent.
