Stayed at Downtowner in historic Downtown Cheyenne for Easter week. Visited friends, read, and Easter services in historic church. A thoughtful and comfortable renovation of the mid-Century modern hotel resulted in a great stay. Quiet, contactless entry made the stay secure, private. The room had all amenities I needed, and very comfortable bed. The hi-tech air handling system was quiet and kept the room comfortable.
As a travel nurse, it's important for me to find safe, affordable, and convenient housing. The Downtowner has gone above and beyond. So much so, that I've stayed for my entire 7 month contract. If you're a travel nurse, there is a serious lack of temporary housing in Cheyenne, so I highly encourage you to check this place out. It is also only 6 blocks from the hospital and cancer center. Beware-a reservation is really not a reservation ! October 2024, I booked a room for one night for May 18 and paid a deposit. On May 9, I get an email message that they cancelled my reservation because they can rent the room for more than one night. I understand they are a small business but cancelling a reservation 10 days before we arrive is an unacceptable business practice.
As someone who is familiar with the hotel, I have a few things to say. The owners of the Downtowner have put their life force into the hotel. They work tirelessly to create a pleasant stay. Without a doubt, the quality of the rooms and the value for what you pay for it is unmatched!
This is a very unique set up. No regrets staying here, decent value, but I wanted to write a review for others to understand the vibe here. This used to be a vertical motel ( 3-4 floors up but exterior doors access the rooms: reference an outdoor picture of it to see what I mean. It’s In the heart of Cheyenne.
