Dr.Reyes refused to do my surgery because I am over weight and a smoker. He treated me as if I was faking my pain even though the xrays show that I'm bone on bone. He may have been great for some but cared less for me. He is very picky about who he does surgery on and picks only the best patients to work on. So if your reading this I hope you are one of the elite. I was speechless when I left his office and very scared.
He has a great bed side manner and you can tell he knows his stuff. Very knowledgeable and wasn’t trying to push unnecessary surgeries unlike other surgeons.
After a hellacious 17 month run around and delay I found Dr. Reyes who performed a total hip replacement on me. I am 71 years old and was extremely debilitated when I went to see him. I was also terrified. I have only been in Alaska 13 years and when I needed a shoulder joint replaced everybody we talked to said to go to the lower 48, that there was nobody qualified to do a replacement in Alaska. Dr. Reyes has been treating my worn out knees with injections until I have the time to have both replaced. I am very satisfied with his manner as well as his treatments. I'm sure he will be replacing my knees when I'm ready for the down time.
I was terrified of another knee replacement because of a previous knee replacement surgery. Dr Reyes helped me work through my fear and preformed my replacement with great results. So glad he came to the peninsula.
