Don't come here unless you want to spend at least 2 hours among the fantastic ideas for merchandising and purchasing every sort of FOOD you can imagine!! The live crab tanks and fresh fish section is unbelievable!! Simply uncommon super market and inviting perimeter mini-mall. Deep wine and spirits section. Go there for lunch! Hot Soups, hot Pannini's and a salad and relish bar to die for!
One very expensive market. Especially seafood. We pay between $4.50 and $6.00 a pound for crab in the Bay Area. Triple that at Central Market. But they do have a nice selection of products.
Their green plastic bags are the best. I get paper bags everywhere else except Fred Meyer. Now why does Fred Meyer have paper bags without handles? What grocery configuration would be better in a paper bag without handles than in a bag with handles - or even a plastic bag? Also the plastic bags at Fred Meyer are vastly inferior to those high-strength Central Market bags.
We ordered the Thanksgiving meal for the first time and it was so delicious!! The turkey was moist & well seasoned, all the side dishes were also very tasty ( I especially liked those Swedish meatballs & veggies ). We also bought the whole whiskey apple pie to try and it was worth it!!! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with all the wonderful food.
