CMP is practicing illegal bill collecting in the state of Maine. I received a bill from a debt collector for a CMP debt on June 2. I received a letter from CMP for the same exact debt on June 3. CMP cannot legally send a bill to a debt collector and also ask for the same money. Horrible company. Old outdated equipment, and grid ,horrible customer service, and the customer has to pay the price for CMP mismanagement.
Frequent power outages. Usually, it takes at least a day, usually longer to restore, and I'm only 20 minutes from the nearest town. And terrible maintenance during the summer trees and branches leaning on and growing through the power lines. The first storm of winter only 2 inches of snow, very little wind and cmp has widespread power outages on the tamest winter storm you could ask for. Price gouges and shitty customer service and ill prepared for outages.. takes incredibly long to turn power on during outages.
I’ve lived in the same place for over a decade and never used to lose power unless we had a bad storm. But over the past few years, we lose power ALL THE TIME for seemingly no reason. The weather is gorgeous and I currently have no power! Simultaneously, these POS have dramatically increased what they’re charging us, REPEATEDLY through the year…it’s criminal. The ONLY time you could speak to a real person was when Pine Tree power was on the ballot…and that’s the only time they’ve been “transparent”.
