The changeover to the Epic system has been a disaster for the entire staff and all patients. Everyone is doing their best to put as positive spin on it as they can, but it is clear this is a total, unmitigated mess across the board. It is difficult to asses the extent of the impact this is causing in all systems. OB unit has maybe 50% air conditioning, we had our son in our delivery room and within 30 minutes we were moved to a room across the hall that had no air conditioning and NO central air ventilation. I had to convince the charge nurse after several requests about maintenance coming to fix the air conditioning or if it was possible for us to switch to a different room. This isnt the best hospital. Some of the staff was very rude. They wouldn't even tell us how long my husband would be in surgery.
The emergency department here is unbelievable. You are not a human being at this location you are just another number. I honestly have no idea how these people have kept their jobs and how this place is still running without lawsuit after lawsuit. I am so disappointed with how my father is currently being treated personally and medically!!! I can only imagine what the patients go through who do not have someone with them advocating for them during their time of treatment!!! The medical staff, when you get to talk to them, are great. But getting in touch with them is a bit of a hurdle. The new MyChart platform is next to worthless. My medications have not been migrated over to the new platform, so requesing a refill is a challenge. My practice's guidance regarding refills is to "talk to my pharmacy," and the pharmacy will request a refill directly to my practice. This has never, ever, not once, worked.
