EMS showed 40 minutes after calling, (I get it, busy staffing etc..). When they assessed me the EMT in charge was convinced I was a drunk going through withdrawals. My wife is a DNP and adamantly denied this and said "why a fever? Why double vision?" They arrogantly dismissed her and relayed their opinion to Southside hospital. Iw as treated by ems and hospital staff like an animal. I had West Nile Virus. If it happened again I would have been better off taking an Uber to Stony Brook.
