If a contractor insists on being paid in cash, that should be your first red flag. We hired Sean to install a pool heater. He originally told me the install would be $450. After the first day, he then wanted $700 (because according to him, we needed a timer installed and he said our gas line was not the right size, only to find out later on we didn’t need to upgrade our gas line after all). Sean is the worst contractor I’ve ever had. We agreed to replace my pool liner in March 2024. After he received half of the payment, he did nothing afterward. I do not even know if he ordered the liner or not. In May, he said he would return my money, but he never did. If you do business with Sean, you are likely to end up adding another line to his lengthy civil court records (attached).
