This place is literally " half open " at 5 15 pm.Btw they advertise 5 30 pm.Upon arrival they have 1 of 2 gates to get in closed.Then 1 of 2 front doors is locked.I needed a quick purchase after I worked all day.Then when I leave a van pulls in as im exiting but can proceed because the gates closed.I can see left to go on Gerrard so he gets out leaves his van parked in front of the closed gate.This almost caused an accident as I tried to get out.BOTTOM LINE if your open leaves the gates open! I went to one of the big box stores looking for some 2x4s and as you can imagine it was full of the twisted lumber that comes from the twisted Forest. Someone recommended I try Central Fairbank so I thought why not. It popped down, went in, place my order and was sent out to the yard. There I was greeted by Andy who I came to know as the lumber whisperer. Andy was incredibly customer focused and kind. Super helpful and got my order ready very quick. Staff is lots of experience and have lots of knowledge and are very helpful. I have been going there since it opened and get all my trim and wood there. Highly recommended it
I've seen a lot for 36 years in the construction business. In regard to lumber yards, Central Fairbank is the best! Both locations North and East. Since Dominion Cole closed their doors in the late nineties and Central opened their second Store at Gerrard St E. I’ve been going there. The team is very personable and accommodating, always willing to help. Nick, Dez and Kyle have built up the store pretty much from the beginning.
