I am extremely disappointed with Central EMS and the way patients are treated financially during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. I’m deeply concerned by the public comments made by one of your employees, Matt Pardue. In a Facebook discussion about peaceful assembly and protest, he responded by saying, “That’s alright I need target practice 🤷‍♂️.” This kind of statement — joking or not — is incredibly inappropriate, especially in today’s climate of heightened tension around law enforcement and public safety. If you need a non emergency BLS ambulance transport to any facility from Piedmont Newnan and you see its Central EMS my best advice is to refuse that service and go POV or some other way. We were told if we sign out AMA the insurance may not cover any of the emergency room visit. So we were bullied into taking an ambulance ride to Children’s in Atlanta which cost a ridiculous amount for them to just transport my 8 month old. These guys are absolute criminals. They charge the maximum amount, refuse to deal with insurance, and then balance-bill the patient for their astronomical rates even if insurance pays the allowable amount. If Piedmont Newnan tries to transport you in a Central EMS ambulance, refuse it.
