I was very disappointed with my experience in the Emergency Department at Central Carolina Hospital. I found several providers to be dismissive and lacking in compassion during a time when I was in need of urgent medical care. I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously, and the communication left much to be desired. Fortunately, I was transferred to WakeMed Cary Hospital, where I received outstanding care. My boyfriend had an accident and came to this emergency room and they discharged him saying he had nothing wrong but a sprained arm. Got a second opinion elsewhere and it turns out they missed TWO fractures in his wrist and elbow
So, I know they don’t have stellar reviews BUT we were here twice when my daughter was stung before we knew she was allergic to bees (great experience). My oldest is a rugby player and got a concussion two years ago, also brought here here, zero complaints. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. WORST HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE EVER!!! The staff is inattentive. The doctor is very passive. Doesn't explain anything and doesn't check in (neither do the nurses). Our primary nurse was old, ornery and disgusting. Coughed WITHOUT covering his mouth OR washing hands at all. It took hours to get a room, they gave an IV drip with little explanations as to why or what was even going in the IV. Here for almost 8 hours for an IV drip.
