The breast center is the absolute only place I will ever have any reconstruction done. I had a bilateral mastectomy in February 2022 after completing chemotherapy for Her2+breast cancer. I met with 3 other facilities and after meeting with the breast center I knew I had found the right place for me. I was able to have one surgery for both my mastectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction. Messed up half of my surgery and were dishonest about. Do not keep or provide full records. Lie about their success rate.
Don't believe the hype. Ask around. They do not follow up closely enough or let you know what's happening when you have a failure until it is too late.
