As a past patient who went here at 11 years old and struggled with anorexia I do agree with some of these reviews, like i did not enjoy the meal plans, or some dietitians that had worked there, but i did enjoy group therapy and the activities we would do. I personally do not recommend at least this location if you or a close one needs help because when I started at Center for discovery. First hand experience, would have to agree with these ratings.
As a person with binge eating disorder I found this place has made my condition worse rather than better. Their ridiculous meal plans and portioning has helped me gain a significant amount of weight. The HAES(health at every shape) mentality is nice, but I don't feel anymore healthy at all after some time in treatment. Everyday I leave treatment bloated and mentally/physically drained and exhausted. Everyone is friendly and tries to be helpful, but most of the staff is inexperienced and the groups are poorly scheduled. There... read more
I do think there’s a lot of staff here that cares about their patients but they often have counterproductive and sometimes even deluded ways of demonstrating that.
I kinda wanna even out the one star reviews because in my experience it wasn’t that bad. I would say most of the therapists are kind and helpful and I met some really amazing people there and I do believe it helped me in my recovery. I feel bad for those who had negative experiences here because I know it’s a struggle:(
