Their IOP program is really good. All the team is caring and professional. The patient body is diverse and be tutored in a healthy community way. Saved my daughter.

I had a very negative and uncomfortable experience at this eating disorder treatment facility. During a group therapy session, I was spoken to in a way that felt bullying, shaming, and extremely unprofessional. At one point, I was told in front of the entire group that I was “going to die,” which was very distressing and humiliating. Treatment environments are supposed to feel safe, supportive, and respectful especially when patients are already in a vulnerable state. The reviews of years past are not reflective of how the program is today. I have been to this location twice, nearly 4 years ago then within the past few months. From my understanding, the many of the reviews for this location were placed during a rough period of managment changes. Now, CFD Des Plaines is under some great managment, with Lily Ohl as the Program Director. I really enjoyed my experience here. I spent two months in the PHP program at The Center for Discovery. Although I’ve been in treatment centers before, this experience stood apart in the best way, which was largely because of the staff. The program director, Lily, and my case manager, Bridgit, are easily the most approachable, insightful, and genuine clinicians I’ve ever met.
