Seven years ago, I was referred to a rheumatologist at the Chesapeake office after a positive ANA titer and multiple autoimmune symptoms. I saw that doctor multiple times and left feeling dismissed — nothing came of the visits. My condition only worsened, so my PCM recently ordered a new ANA titer that came back positive, very high with a pattern change, and more symptoms added on. If you are looking for a Rheumatology practice, Please stay away from this practice. They have a referral coordinator that screens the referrals which is not a nurse or MD, so if it they don't feel you meet criteria they will deny you and then write a note on your referral to block you. Even after 3 different providers sent referrals they will still say no. Obviously if 3 different providers recommend care it should require an evaluation to be done. Horrible. They requested my records and said they would call me for an appointment. It’s been months.
Lost three referrals since 2021. I told the front desk they were incompetent and she said, “no we’re not.” Mkay… but if sounds like a dark and acts like a duck and looks like a duck, it’s probably a duck. Just sayin
