In all of my decades coming to the resort, I had never been to TCFR. After visiting tonight, I wish I had come here sooner. First, the gimmick of a floating restaurant (no less one that dates back to the 1960s) is actually pretty fun. And the vibe inside—all wood paneling and gold accents—is quite relaxing. We had a lovely dinner party of 6. Three of us arrived early, and the hostess was very nice in accommodating us on the patio with drinks while we waited. Per the norm, the salad bar was well stocked with fresh items. Our dish choices were salmon, steak, crab cakes, and pasta, to name a few. Everyone enjoyed their meals. *Some of the HOTTEST horseradish we have ever had! So good!* Ended the dinner with a yummy creme brulee. Already have reservations for Mother's Day! See you soon!
This is a must-do when in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. Visit Cedar's Floating Restaurant. Fantastic view of the lake. Great food, the minu has just enough items not to give you too much to choose from. $$$ so don't forget to bring the dough. The clam chowder over the salad, you can get salad anywhere.
You go for the ambiance, not the food. If people talk up the salad bar (it is pretty good/nice) it is because there is a major lack of places where you can even find a salad bar in the CDA/Hayden/PF area, minus Dockside (which is obviously owned by the same corp).
