Access is only possible from the City of Quasqueton. -There will be 2 weeks in July where tours CANNOT be offered. -Please check the Friends of Cedar Rock website for the most up to date DETOUR/ROADWORK access information. -Reservations are required, call 319.934.3572, email cedar_rock@dnr.iowa.gov -Tours May 21-Oct 12 Wednesday-Sunday, each hour from 10a-3p EXCEPT when July paving prohibits access.

Cedar Rock is an amazing property, and the State of Iowa does a wonderful job offering free, donation-based tours. It’s a great opportunity to experience the home and learn the history behind it. We visited in the summer and were able to see the entire house as well as the boat house, which made the tour especially worthwhile. The home reflects Frank Lloyd Wright’s strong design vision; even down to the décor and the way plates were to be used. Free tours - donations accepted. You can email for a reservation or just stop in. There are restrooms and a small exhibit at the welcome center. From there they take you in a tractor pulled wagon up to the house for the tour. I was the only one signed up for the tour when I visited in July. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable.
