My colonoscopy at Cayuga Medical Center on November 18, 2025, performed by Dr. Tandy Agostini under MAC sedation (Dr. Hans Salamanca-Granados), was dangerous. I’m sharing this so other patients — especially those on GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Mounjaro — don’t experience what I did. What Happened: I aspirated stomach acid under sedation. Well was prescribed a medication that my insurance would not pay for Dr said they probably would so in the meantime I've run out of the medicine that I had been taking so have tried 4 attempts to get it refilled with apoltly no luck at all if I'm not talking to someone answer machine I speak to someone who's going to get right on it and call me back so going on just about 4 weeks after my appointment and 3 weeks of being out
I think your experience here highly depends on which practitioner you're seeing. Emily Dvorak is amazing, she's the best medical provider I've ever seen. If you have GI issues related to hypermobility, go here. She's the first person who I felt really understood what was going on with my GI system and cares about finding a solution. I've seen reviews saying the wait time is too long but at my last appointment I got there very early and was seen by Emily 10-15 minutes before my scheduled time. It seems like Cayuga GI has gone downhill. Take note of the dates on the reviews. My experience with this office was terrible. They had me do the full prep then cancelled the appointment. I tried again a few weeks later and after doing 3 days of restricted diet they never sent the prep to the pharmacy. I called a week before and 3 days before and the day of. They never sent it. Finding a new doc.
Rachel Ayers goes above and beyond to help. She is caring and truly listens. I am grateful for Rachel and the authenticity she brings to each interaction. The front desk is a bit chaotic and dichotomous in information, so if you find someone you click with, I suggest requesting that person.
