AVOID!! Booked through Airbnb and this host was by far the worst person I have ever come across. Would not allow us to reschedule our booking during cyclone Alfred even though flights were cancelled and claimed there was no issues only a small bit of rain. No customer care and clearly money hungry grub. Plenty of other options in the area, even a tent would be a better option then having to deal with this person. AVOID!!

I wouldn't recommend booking this air bnb, The communication was terrible. Unfortunately cyclone Alfred lead us to need to cancel our booking, We were unable to negotiate an alternate option with our host or verify the area was safe, as they did not reply to us for 4 days prior to our stay, including no response on the day we would have checked in. My partner and I had booked our first kid free weekend away in what seems like forever to watch our best friends get married. Cue cyclone Alfred so everything cancelled and guests who had already made it to Byron told to evacuate. Tarek refused a refund, despite complete inability to offer us basic human needs such as safety shelter and power. I am absolutely appalled by my experience with Cavvanbah and host Tarek via Air BNB. We were forced to cancel our stay due to an unavoidable situation being cyclone Alfred which has since left the area flooded, limiting local resources and leaving the region without power or mobile phone service. In any responsible business, especially in hospitality, you would expect some empathy, especially when nature itself is dictating circumstances beyond our control. Not here.
