Years ago my 11 y/o maltipoo had a small cist behind his ear that exploded. We made an appointment to have it removed. Funny part was that AFTER my senior dog was already under anesthesia the vet calls to say the cist has fully exploded, there's nothing left to remove. I had an appointment for my 80lb dog. We drove up in the pouring rain. It was about 40-50 degrees. It was windy. We reached the front of the vets door. There were 2 people and a staff member doing something at the desk. We ran up to the door and pulled on it. It was locked. Everyone in the vet looked at us and turned around and ignored us.
