I happen to be visiting Roanoke on business and wanted something somewhat healthy. Back home, I frequent CAVA and enjoy their food. Decided to give the the Roanoke CAVA a try and ordered my usual, power greens only, spicy lamb meatball and extra chicken which I pay for, no problem. First time coming here. The young ladies seem disconnected from my skin color. I was treated a bit different from the other customers that were not black. I wouldnt call them rude, but they were not disrespectful. It was a weird and uncomfortable experience. Then the one young conversed with her co-worker and asked, “Was he trying to get free shit?” All I asked is if they honored military discounts.
